A lot of s2 for sale lately,is it the slippery slope

Is it me or are there alot of s2 for sale lately, could it be a decline in the popularity of this wonderful car. I am a little older than most of you on this forum, and have seen it happen to other cars, for exsample the E type, and other jags like Mk 2,XJ6,XJS,MGV8 AUDI 200, ect, ect. I know that some of these cars are on the way up again, but they did drop right down in price first.
so what do you think is the s2 stable, going up ,or dropping in price and popularity.

I think there are too few of them for the bottom to fall out of the S2 market. I love mine to bits

Noticed the amount for sale as well, over hear they're asking too much for them example an S2 aby 180,000 on the clock no rebuild or replacement engine and the chap was asking £5,500 for it...

Its all good to have a range of choice when buying an S2.

If there is a decline, [and I say if] Its probably the rising cost of petrol and insurance.

I'd agree with you on that, then theres people changes in circumstances (buying a house, having a baby, moving country that sort of thing).

Then of course there is the diminishing prices of the used car market.
The majority of people don't want to buy a car that is at least 10 years old which invariably will require a substantial amount of cash to maintain it to a high standard.

I'm sure you'll agree these cars are highly desirable but only to a relatively small number of enthusiasts.

"at least with the 20v it’s cheaper to look after" er don’t know about that mate, especially not when it comes to fuel economy

Its sad to see a lot of the "old timers" sell up and leave the forum, its the guys who have been on here years make this forum the invaluable encyclopedia that it is. I guess everybody moves on sooner or later, and these cars are not getting any younger.

Ive toyed with the idea of changing mine but I have spent too much to let it go & i am quite attached to it, so mine wont be getting sold any time soon. Just the civic instead
