Mobile phones

Hey guys just after your thoughts as I can't make up my mind....

My mobile is bust (the joystick jobbie in the middle won't move down or to the right anymore - took me 15mins to try to read a text today) hence after a new one....

Right the choices are -

Sony Erric - K800.
TMobile MDA Vario with copilot
Nokia N73

Can't make up the mind but do prefer the sony and nokia as they have a more powerful camera but the MDA is quite a compact unit........

Help not need to get one quick or the one I have is going down the loo intentionally (no it's not insured just had enough of the flaming thing!!!!)

K800 is a good phone.

The MDA Vario I had kept crashing and was slow compared with the original MDA compact because it has a 200MHz processor instead of 416MHz processor the original MDA Compact.

No experience with the N73

N73 is fantastic phone will be my next choice.

If you want a bling phone the K800 is the best on the market for camera quality and general use, but the texting is nowhere near as good as the N73 as it's slower hence why i'm going N73.

If you phone more then go for the K800

quick edit to that n73 ya wot,no way there well slow they use symbian software,open source which is very buggy and slow,and if it goes wrong nokia service centres cant fix em they go back to finland,42day turn around time,not my idea of quick repair.

Nokia are the quickest phones for texting period, Sony is the best phone but the software is alot slower in key recognition. And before you ask i work in Telecommunications amongst other things.

Im afraid I have to side with john on this one, the old nokias were great. All the newer ones seem to be slow for texting. Claires phone is alot slower than my W810i

Each to their own, tested all the Sony range and to me it's like 56k dial up, laggy!

Got a K750 at the moment but its the bleeding joystick thing that is bust, the K800 has the same one doesn't it!
John tell me more about Wayfinder (i.e.cost)
And can you get it on T-mobile????

right i think here we need to look at the software,s60-nokia is and aways will be a bag of t oss,more holes than swiss cheese and windows xp,even nokia reps say the same.ok sonys did have problems with there joysticks but they fixed that.sybian is rubish on nokia thats why sony do the p-range with wot they call uiq,which is like symbian but with all the problems ironed out.

Apparent from laggy response to key presses, i forgot about the joystick it bust on the K750 work phone i had, one reason i wont get the k800.

Azman go an test the phones yourself, every mobile store person i've seen just want to promote the one they get good comission on

I've always had Nokia and only ever had 1 break in 11 years.

Same as me with erricsons Jamo, this is the first one I have had break out of the 9 phones I have had, I have been looking today and can't make my mind up hence asking on here. I do like the K800 but am put off by the joystick thing but the N73 has one of sorts too. Hey ho...
Will have another hunt either tomorow or next week.
(if my other one hasn't departed through the nearest brick wall first)

Well i only sell wot i would buy my self,i would rather sell a phone to a customer and see them back in 12/18 months that sell somethink that makes me loads of money and goes wrong after 6months.

I recentley swapped my Sony Ericsson P900 for a Nokia N80 (got it with a contract)

The N80 has a brilliant camera and connection facilities (wifi etc), but the P900 had way better functionality and battery life.

The nokia needs to be charged once every 36 hours if your lucky.

The sony was the better phone by far IMHO, but the nokia was newer with newer technology, and hadn't been used to death. Same goes for all other sony's ive had.
