Fiat Coupe owners love to hear about other bargain performance stuff - we have a great relationship with the Nissan 200SX forum - great bunch of lads - very similar outlook - cheap car, BIG performance, great tuning potential.

So c'mon - who's up for an unofficial meet at the Pod sometime
Well, speaking only for my S2
"1993 S2 Avant, Custom MRC remap, Porsche 996 Calipers, Hybrid Turbo K26/K27/K29, Stainless Steel 3 inch turbo back custom exhaust - no catalysors, RS2 Intercooler, RS2 Intake and Exhaust Manifolds, 370cc injectors, S3 Dump Valve, Bosch Motorsport fuel pump, Samco Boost and Coolant hose kits, RS2 Water Pump, Carbon trim, 16' Avus rims, Dynamyx boost gauge, Alpine MP3-WMA head unit + MP3 changer "

And as I could break my g/box's 1st gear as I haven't fitted an RS2 g/box if I hard launch my car on a drag strip, why not meet up on a real racetrack ? The Nurburgring !

That said, it's nice to hear about you guys ! We all worship the same horsepower god...

We should get the ball in motion for this one I think lads, will be a great day out anyway, even if we dont spend our time on thr strip but instead just meet up.

Yeah reckon it would be a good meet, doctorfrag (joe) came along to a meet last year at the green man in stamford and his fiat was running about 280hp. Pretty quick, the power delivery is alot more brutal than the S2 and it squirms to get the power down. nice motor that has a 250kg less weight than a stock s2 which is a big advantage.

Who would like to start investigating a meet on this one?

              I certainly would greg!

They seem like a good bunch of lads and I think it would be great fun. If the meet does happen at santa pod then I doubt I will be taking part, but I will be there with the S2 for a good day out.

Whats the torque figures like compared to the s2?
3'' Longlife Exhaust, Koni Adjustables, H&R Springs, Full RS2 Setup with Mr Nugents RS2 Chips (just need the RS2 Airbox)

So I can see plenty of pros and cons to fiat vs audi however I for one am up for a challenge.

My s2 avant is standard apart from brakes and suspension. But I am quite happy to sprint against a standard fiat coupe.

So are we going to organise something?

All im saying is the engines are bomb proof unless they have been run low on oil - you even correctly say that its not uncommon due to consuming oil.
They do not drink oil any more than any other turbo car of the same age.
You get good and bad eggs in every car - perhaps his was a bad one.
In the Fiat 20VT turbo manual it actually states expect the car to use 1ltr of oil every 1000 miles go check for yourself!

Not that crazy. The standard figure for all VAG PD engines is 1ltr per 1000km.

Youlll find the same in most car handbooks.
Its called 'covering one's *rse' and most manufacturers do it to protect themselves from cars running bone dry on oil.

Must say i do like them.A mate had one and he said it was the best car he'd owned. However ive lost count of the number of cars ive seen for sale on ebay or mates have owned etc with snapped cam belts and seized engines, not necessarily 5 pots but the coupe's and alfa 145/156's especially.
