    Top gear suspended....

Looks like the crash has brought a end to top gear as we know it. Clarkson was said to have been fighting with the BBC for many years now to keep it on the air. They must have used this as a finnal excusse
Think if clarkson wanted to keep it going he could get sponsorship from a few companys and produce a series and sell it on? It sells golbal?

I heard it was only postponed until they were certain Hamster would recover?

(Which he evidently will, judging by the great sight of him walking to the air ambulance yesterday).

Anyone know anything different to this?

I have several friends at the Beeb, I'll find out. It would be a complete stitch-up to cancel the show.

Officially, the postponement is only until Hamster is recovered, because they won't film the studio stuff without him.

At the end of the day Top Gear is one of the most viewed programmes on british television (alledgedly it is the most pirated television show in the world) and the BBC would be foolish to scrap it. I suspect that it will be toned down a bit, but I think if I am honest that will be a good thing, it was getting a bit OTT at times.

It's cancelled until the results of the police and safety investigation into the crash. If the BBC is cleared of Negligence then it will be back on the air.

Was on TV in the morning

Heh... if the BBC ban it, it'll just move to another channel!

Top Gear will never die, that's for sure. Demand is too high, it's a quids-in winner for the tv channels.

Agree, Sky will be drooling at the thought of it. Only downside of it moving from the beeb is the damn annoying adverts on all other channels (C4, ITV ,SKY etc)

Good news on two points there - Top Gear stays, and Hamster will apparently be fine after his recovery period of about six months.
