How do you play AVI's???

Heres one for all the computer wizkids, media player wont play my AVI's what programe do i need?

or media player. gone off quicktime because you have to install itunes at the same time now

if you AVI's are encoded in to Divx or Xvid you will need a decoder installed so that media player knows how to read them.

Media Player will play it provided you have the right codec. Download this and install and all will be well.
IMHO Quicktime sucks.

goto www.videolan.org and get vlc player that will play anything without the need to find codecs

Have found that once you have done the installation, you can go back and uninstall iTunes from control panel and leave quicktime in tact

might have to try that, it annoys me when they bundle things like that because i tunes uses loads of ram in the background with little exe's running
