    payments to mainland Europe

    Hey Gurus,

Last time I tried to make an IBAN payment, my UK bank (First Direct) charged me over £20 for the privilege, even though I receive money without charge My old bank (Barclays) are the same but it is even harder to actually make the transaction.

So my question is, how do UK based folks on here send payments to Europe for parts etc without doubling the cost of the item?

    Cheers n

    payments to europe

royal mail do a registered mail to europe [has to be signed for] which can contain cash[euros] which is insured ,obviously an element of trust and agreement should be established. I used it myself a few months ago to buy a treser part for my 200q , no problems and avoided the rip off bank charges .

            Simon,

I have no idea how it would work, or if this is of any use to you, but in case you don't know - Nationwide do NOT charge for international purchases on either credit or debit cards. therefore, they may be able to help you if you could set up an account with them??

just an idea, and probably flawed

Have a look at nationwide for charges they are alot more reasonable than most. HSBC's charges are extortionate from my experience
