steering rack rebuilt...

Hi all...

any body here have experience with steering rack rebuilt? , i`ve donne it today via specialist.. for my A4 , and now i am not very satsfied , I just finiched fiting it , and when i move it shake it left and right , it does sound like rattle , and the second issue , while i am driving it it sounds some times while i am turning the steering half turn like snoring like the steering starve from oil , any body have any idea? is there a way to bleed the steering from air? or is it a loosy rebuild?

i paid for rebuild more then price one used , and to make the part more joyfull i lost money from my wallet , so now i am really sad , its not my day cant wait to take the car and show it to him tomorow and if he will say its normal i will let him swalow it.

I had my steering rack (S2 coupe) rebuilt/overhauled - see this thread for the story - and it was faultless after it had been done: no rattling, no snoring, no hissing.

curlyks2: I just checked it today morning and the snoring voice gonne , it look like it was buble air still in the box , and he did overhauled it , cause the inner axle was not straight so he fix it, and change all the seals by original kit from zf.

there is 0 leak now and i am happy from that , and he checked it today and he told me this cnoking if i shake the steering left and right from the valve body and that i have to tighten it a bit because he dont how much it was tighten.

and he said after a while of driving the steering while be lighter cause everything now is new inside it , and He said to me to show it to the Vag service and if they will tell me its not good he is ready to do what ever i want.

by the Vag service here rebuilt over this one... What do you think?
