    Chip tuning company?

Anyone heard of these guys? Used them, know anything about their products? Do they do what they say on the tin? Prices?

I notice they offer a re-map for my V6 claiming 20bhp and 32lb/ft torque, which is pretty good gains for an NA motor from a map. Any intelligence would be most welcomed...

Never heard of them, but I owned a Coupe 2.8 for 9 years and often looked at getting it tuned. Most companies reckoned on around 18-20BHP increase for this engine, which I figured was too little for the money so never bothered.

      YEP

Rica = king of the Volvo's respectable company and if you get one of their dutch engineers doing the work it's top notch.

Problem is their main u.k outlet is in the midlands (Bromsgrove) they are right *****ers!

What's this, because I'm not an S2 owner anymore that I don't deserve the full information

Seems a bit pricey to me, although these are the biggest performance gains I've seen discussed for the V6 from just a re-chip.

I clear forgot to mention they are expensive i think that price is for a generic chip not a real time map as well

Dan, Makarina posted a thread about different tuning companies, there were loads listed so might be worth a look at a few of those

Can't MRC give you similar performance gains?

MRC reckoned about 10bhp and 10lb/ft. I totally understand that NA engine chip tuning will yield much less than the turbo re-mapping, but for me I would certainly struggle to justify spending >£400 for such modest returns. The Rica chip tuning route seems interesting solely because they claim the biggest power hike, but again I'm hesitant simply due to the fact that I would want this proven, or at least offered some sort o f guarantee that if I couldn't actually notice the difference that I could have it back to stock for no cost (or a rolling road dyno to at least show me genuinely that my car has been tweaked!).

I'm not really sure why I'm beating myself up with even thinking about modding the A4, damn the dark side

Dan, I don't think 20 is that realistic, it could be more like 13-17 but I wouldn't claim 20 unless I had done at least 20 cars with the same chip and dyno tested them with solid 18-22HP gains on ALL cars.

IMHO 20 isn't feasible. The most I can offer you as opposed to other people is to bring your car in, put the emulator on, map it real time and try to get as much as it wants to give us extra and if you're not happy, just put it back to stock and you pay nothing. I do think it's an honest offer...
