my catalyst smell very bad and its strong.. so some one told me it may be clocked , so the question what is the benifit if i replace it with a pipe? or exhaust? , well the car run faster? or weaker? what about drinking fuel?
If you can legally use your car without one, get rid of it. Make sure heat sensors etc. are re-attached. The car will gain a couple of bhp and use slightly less fuel.
Hehe even if its not ligal ill handle it, but the good new more bhp and fuel saver , i will remove it today but what about if i empty it? and let it stay?
Better to completely remove them and replace with small silencers than 'empty them'. No data on cat removal on the V6, but you will gain some, but very little.
Dear Paul , i took it off! and geuss what? the multifunction display was showen average fuel 15l/100km on speed like 120 km , yesturday i was driving 180 km and fuel average was only 10.2 and 11 and the car now push much stronger in high rev , and the engine sounds better i am really glad for this in every way.. but.. i have a question.
Any body knows a specialist there who could make me a pipe instead of the catalyst that would look like oem and high quality? that it wont get rusty quickly....?
i dont know if it smoked , cause when i came home i droved 140km far from my home and all the way i was sliping it as a racing horse so today morning i`ve found my exhaust is pretty clean , while with the cato it was black .
do u know what kind of matier is inside the cat? they offerd me 100 euro for it?.........
just want to share one reply from one well known exhaust systems company when I've asked them about catless exhaust (downpipe in this case) which they making/selling:
''......cat bypass is not recommended at all; it has noxious fumes and the car will fall on it’s face off the line due to back pressure loss. If you like power down low in the RPMS the bypass is not the way to go. Some clients buy the bypass and then take them off, really not worth it. The 200 cells are the only way to go....''
