That may be what their website says, but the simple fact is they haven't delivered what was promised "15 issues for the price of 12" - what we received was 3 intermittent issues, followed by a long delayed excuse for another issue (half sized junk - in fact ended up on my junk pile!).
So we'll have our money back for the other 12 which haven't materialised, thank you very much, and consign the 3 "free" issues to the "nearly made it" shelf.Past: S2 ABY coupe RS2 spec with lots of mods, S4 B5 saloon, RS6 C5 saloon, S8 D2 FL, RS4 B7 saloon, S4 B6 avant
Present: S4 B8 avant, MRC Stage 2Comment

Who are we to judge why (
) in this modern cut-throat, high-tech, disposable, Nimby, yuppie, wide screen world in which we live (or barely survive in some cases).
We are just the poor shmucks who are out of pocket

@ Simon!

That was nearly worth the wasted subscription fee alone!
When you put it like that in another context it certainly does sound ridiculous.... :rollyes:

David may have approached this in the wrong way, but it is clear to me that he did it for the right reasons - like all of us, he has a passion for Audi's and he has a dream of living off doing something he is interested in.
It hasn't worked, he made mistakes but I expect he will keep trying in the face of the ridiculing majority, not to scam fellow enthusiasts, but because it's something he would love to do.
Personally I take my hat off to Mr Corfield for producing 4 issues, and hope that he keeps pursuing his dream, but manages to make that important and difficult step of asking the right people for help in the areas where he is struggling.
I paid a subscription, and yes I'm out of pocket to the tune of half a tank of fuel, but I knew there was a risk (because I researched DC's forum history beforehand) and was willing to support a fellow enthusiast.
Everyone crying for his blood seems to forget the day at Peterborough Audi that DC organised to have a run out in the B7 RS4 (here) - It was free, with no strings, and no lobbying for funds, just DC's attempt to give something back. Not the actions of a 'Conman'.
What I am trying to get across is that this guy needs our support (I'm not talking financial here, before you scurry off to hide your wallets), he's fallible, but he's one of us who happens to have the cojones to have a go at something very difficult.
Put your pitchforks away, they don't help anyone.Nothing feels fast for long...

In fairness I feel I have earnt my right to have a bit of a dig and a laugh.
I paid up front.
I read 4 out of 15 issues posted
I offered help on a number of occasions including actually emailing an article to him
He did not let anyone know what was going on at any stage in this fiasco.
I don't have a pitchfork just a

Enough already please, the poor ******* has some failings, are we all perfect, I know I'm not.
It seems to be the British way that we criticise when we do well and poke even sharper sticks when we fall.
I am not condoning how David has handled this, nor do I accept the way he has treated his target audience but I do know for a fact that there is absolutely no scam here whatsoever.
Fatty think how you would feel if your S2 was really dirty and you had no soap and water to clean it, and with every fibre in your body you wanted to clean it so much but all you saw was people poking you with a stick.
You don't have to give the guy a chance but for christ's sake give him a break.Corey

I never said it was a scam. I was only defending my position as not holding a pitchfork.
Did you buy a sub Corey?
I take your point about my dirty car though

Actually, I have changed my mind.
Yes I was having a laugh, but actually I am really pissed off I sent someone I don't know nearly £40 based on the premise that I would be buying into something great and in fact they stopped providing that service AND did not bother to tell me or anyone else!
Simon was spot on with his curry house post before.
Now I have finished with David.

If not the first subscriber, certainly within the top 5. It was around 21/06/2003 that I saw the potential for the magazine and willingly gave my subscription payment (and would do so again).
I met David through him needing someone to rebuild his MB urq and have been good friends with him ever since but sometimes he does even test my patience but where would the fun be in life if everything was easy, if it was I would be employing 500 people and rule the world (but I would still be here for you guys
, I truly hope that the magazine doesn't fold and somehow comes back from the dead but not everything in life goes how we plan does it?
If my £40 is lost then at least I know it went to help someone try to get their dream off the ground and I can feel good about that.Corey

End of the day folks people paid for a product not a dream end of story.
If it was advertise as "donate your money for a future Audi mag" then yes I could understand but it wasn't, it was a subscription for a guanrenteed amount of magazines that have not been forth coming.
Even though it was meant as a funny Si's little story hit the nail bang on the head, and living in Birmingham I can really identify with the analogy.
