Ok, Audi do an A3 5 door (which is effectively an A3 Avant), the A4 Avant of course, and the rather roomy A6 Avant. Anyone know why Audi hasn't done an Avant variant of the A8? That would be a great big car option for those of us who indulge in a bit of slipper-wagon action these days? An RS8 Avant would be seriously cool!

I've thought this before, but then BMW don't do a 7-series estate, and theres no S-class estate or XJ-estate....
I think there sould be an M7 though!
But thats a side issue...
I think the Big cruisers are just for rich people, and they don't need estates! Its just a posh upper-class thing, a look of luxury. Plus an S8 esate would be massive!!!
Its not like you see ferrari estates......

Well it was just that a friend of mine who used to have an A4 Avant currently has an A6 Avant and he wants to buy an A8, but he can't because he needs the Avant boot shape, so it just made me think... You're right it would be a leviathan of a car, but then there are plenty of big cars around these days! I suppose Audi want people to buy the Q7 if they want a seriously large "family" car rather than a Exec-limo?
Saw a Q7 the other day, I have to say I think it's a ridiculous machine.Ex S2 owner, now running around in an A4 Avant quattro...

Haha, weird though isn't it?
Personally I can't imagine why anyone would want to go for a Q7 over a A6 avant! For a family of 5, theres more room in an A6 with the boot especially, than in the Q7! Plus, I'm sure an A6 drives much nicer than a Q7, mainly due to its smaller, less agricultual tyres and sensible roll centre! Its like range/landrovers. Have you ever sat in the back of one? Shocking legroom, and I'm only 5ft 10! And their meant to be pretty awful when you're hussling one!

However, if you need 7 seats then you may need one of these hefty soft-roaders...ever since I floored you I knew that I loved you!Comment
