You can find true enthusiasts in some dealerships and they do go the extra mile and are interested in your car, however that can't be said of the service or sales depts naturally IMO.....most dealerships are only interested in 'plug-in maintenence' rather than true diagnostics. They cannot or don't want to resolve a problem unless it shows up on a machine and can be cleared or reset. Additionally if you happen to be aprivate owner rather than fleet, you get similar treatment.
Audi is happy to roll out a UR or GrpB car when its convenient and fills some space in their mags but they haven't or dont want to buy into the whole heritage thing which includes supporting owners with documentation, expert advice and access to parts etc. If they did all they'd need to do is look at Porsche/bmw on how to do that and implement.
Good luck getting an ear on this...

Good idea though I do think there was a previous attempt to do something like this in the past by some way of all the official clubs nominating someone to attend a meeting with some Audi UK or DE folk... That was easy 2yrs ago and its apparent this became a talking shop with ****** all power to do anything.
Its bad enough the dealerships don't treat us properly, and that most of their employees have no knowledge of our cars, but when the factory stops making parts then that is a whole different scenario. IMO there is no good reason why they cannot have parts made in small batches for the enthusiast market - sure there will be a price premium - but that versus the cars being off the road is a small penalty.
I know a guy with an old 70's Ferrari - a 512 BB no less ! He had to wait 6 months for tyres as the factory only makes them once or twice a year. There are some carburettour parts that he is also waiting for - seemingly there is an active owners club which informs him of how and when to order such rare parts. Takes a while sometimes, but there is little that is truly unavailable.

Great idea. Too many large companies forget where they've come from or have a change of strategy and cost cut to the bone - giving away their greatest assets - in this case, support for the cars that MADE them.

Signed and in...
I agree, things are looking bleak for those of us choosing to run older cars...
I had a SAAB 99, but parts were beginning to be remanufactured for this, after owners clubs started complaining.
I suspect Audi will be less willing, but we have to try...

I signed it ages ago.
I hope Audi take note, but suspect that we are "pissing in the wind"
