i am after an exhaust manifold for an a3 1.8t ajq engine code should be in good condition,
no cracks.?
the one i have has a hairline crackwhich runs in one of the bolt holes is it worth replacing?
My RS2 manifold has cracks also, i think its just a audi thing with there cast manifolds. I would say its not worth replacing as the new one you will put on will most likely just crack.
i would say as its on your exhaust manifold not at all really, due to you only pumping out waste of your exhaust and there will be hardly any pressure loss due to the crack being hair line.
I wouldnt see a remap casuing any more problems but the extra heat it will generate its worth a visual inspection just to be safe.
ok so may leave the manifold , but the gasket between manifold and turbo was blowing split in half so i guess by replacing that should feel a bit better.
