Just pulled out of my drive and hey presto the back end slides out and hits a parked car Needless to say my little RS now needs to go to the body shop! Should be interesting to see what the insurance company say.
You might leave the S2 fold every so often - but you'll always come back!

Just spoke to a couple of body shops now I am wondering if I should go for the replacement rear quarter or just have it filled. The insurance just advised me to pick a body shop and get them to quote for the work to be done and then crack on! A rear quarter is a massive job though so what do people think is the best option? I do intend to keep the car and want it as near perfect as possible.

Hey, it least it wasn't as bad as my slide. Just ask Corey/Bry/anyone else who's seen it... sorry to hear bout it though. Good luck with insurance, they're right *******s.
Unless the panel is stretched and can't be dressed back close to origional shape i would keep the repair as local as possible. A good body shop should be able to get the panel half sense and so use only a tiny skim of filler.
Putting on a rear quarter is a big job and the welds will rot eventually! so the panel will be filler free but rust worm will take hold where it is welded on to the shell. They don't regalvanise the shell after accident repair work you know!
Just my 2p worth, obviously hard to judge without a pic

Having seen the damage done, at first glance it isn't that bad, the down side (or on the flip side it is good) is that it has had a previous repair there already and they have used a fair bit of filler, plus the paint never really matched the rest of the car.
I personally wouldn't replace the panel, it would certainly pull out but until all the old filler is removed who know's the horrors underneath.
Hmmm from what Corey says its had monkeys at it already! Still best to work on the panel as it is, if all the edges are in the right place its got to be worth a go!
In my previous 'tin bashin' days, i worked some really savaged panels and they came back good as withsome graft!
