That certainly was a biggy Ross! Think 'lucky boy@ has been mentioned in your thread too but seeing this really confirms it. Its so lucky noone was with you, especially in the back. That would have bin a tad uncomfortable!

So the piccies finally got out hehe wondered if any would make it out! Haven't taken any myself, it hurts seeing it like that... so Yes, that's my car, and hope that answers the recent query about whether the rear tailgate seal is salvageable

@Jeffer yeah I'm fine, good job it's RHD huh. The car came out much worse that I, they worried about brain injuries but then realised that I was normally like that took a heavy hit to the rear of the head and had lots of bruises from the seatbelt. The beanie hat I was wearing at the time ended up sitting on top of the rubble in the guys garden so I think I was very lucky...

The hospital trip wasn't even too bad, not sure which was funnier in hindsight. The doctor asking me if I was the rally driver with the modified Audi, or asking me if they'd probed by backside to check for injuries to the spinal base yet (note, was 'with it' enough to deny them, erm, 'entry' and insist I could feel my legs so I have NOT been violated for the record.

Anyway back to topic, damage isn't so bad but a PITA and good luck getting it fixed.

                    Rgds

                      Ross,

If its any consolation, on my recent snowboarding trip to Switzerland, I was airlifted off the mountain by some kind Swiss chopper pilots/medics.

All beat up at the cold hospital, I had the humiliating experience of having four nurses remove all my clothing and then x-ray various parts of my anatomy whilst dressed in a gown far too small for me...

I leave the rest to your imagination.

My how my wife and father-in-law laughed.

I am not bodyshop man, but that is too small a repair to warrant the hassle and expense and risk of a full rear quarter panel and all that entails

IIWY I would spend some time finding a classic car restorer and pay good money for a proper careful body man to spend some time sorting the metalwork out. It does not look too bad from here and because of the location of the dent should not be too noticeable when repaired...

                          Cheers,

                          Steve.

Agree totally with what Seve said
A "proper" good classic car repair man will make that invisible with a decent repair.
No Problem Si. Certainly doesnt need a new panel going on the cost that would involve.
