I'm impressed with the novel method but wasn't that quite strange/scary having a passenger control the throttle?

Actually I've seen that done before - on a rally car to get it back from last stage into parc ferme. Tis a very nice trick and not one most people would come up with...

Its not something i would recommend but facing a potential 90 minute wait stuck on the hard shoulder of the M40 near an entry slip lane which didnt allow us any real safe haven to stand i know what i prefered to do.

LMAO Pete, was half cut when you phoned to tell he last night and thought you were half joking dude! Respect to the Heath Robinson throttle linkage, never heard of this kind of failure on an S2 before but then again not many ppl use the throttle as hard as you do

Reminds me of the time at inters when we bodged the clutch cable on my g40 when it snapped on the line for the 1/4 mile. Got it back up and running for the last run of the day and won the class Bloke that thought he had won it was gutted

Hmmmmmm - well Audi UK have no throttle cables in the Uk and they are on backorder .
Ordered one from VAg parts - hopefully be here by the weekend.
If your cable outer has split or is looking the worse for wear buy a new one is my advice.
Im having great fun trying to feed a mountain bike brake cable into the outer cable down in the footwell - no room whatsover to work in even with the brake and throttle pedal removed
