    what is an event lifer?

    was looking at jobs within race teams and there was one advertised "Event Lifer", now this job looked pretty good - vague but good.

    what i would like to know is WTF is an event lifer!!!!??? cause nobody on the planet (well where i work and my girlfriend) seems to know!!!

    would ring em and ask them but no phone number, just says email your cv

      Sounds like lifing of parts to me, pretty critical job if you don't want failures!

                  can order the stainless bits if you want, havent got any of the material you specified for the aluminium parts - the stuff i have is a hard grade of aluminium but i have no idea what it is

                      Have you got any marked as 2014T6? That would be the stuff.

                      Regarding exhaust flange, the minor diameter obviously needs to be the same but the taper can start at 4mm instead of 4.76mm, given that the material is a little thinner. It's not that critical, as long as I know what the starting point of the taper is - I just want to shorten the cone area outside the flange a little bit, and there still appears to be plenty of room to install the nuts on the studs. 12° is to remain the same.
