RS6 Crash - guy walked away from this.....

    http://www.rs6.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11342&page=2

This is from the owners Brother-in-Law...

What you see is what you get, i.e. there was no cutting of the vehicle prior to the pictures being taken.
It is my brother-in-law that you see holding the mobile phone, he honestly doesn't know the speed that he was going at but wasn't near as fast as he has done in the past on that particular part of the road.

Although the road was completely dry he said that it felt he was on ice and the car just careened into the tree. He actually called the emergency services and climbed out of the car by himself, he spent only a couple of hours in hospital, apart from a few minor scratches he got a bandage around his little finger, I told him if he's not already religious he should take it up ASAP!

The car WAS a pristine RS6 ABT, I was supposed to pick it up that very day to borrow it from him for a week as I've always wanted to try out the ABT version. He really should have simply told me that he didn't want me to drive his car I'm so happy he is alive and all in one piece.

Absolutely amazing! and the guy looks so relaxed...even smiling...

At first glance, looks like 2 RS6s crashed head on...

On a lighter note, I think they must have needed something a little more hefty than that broom to clear up that mess...

From the single picture posted above...rather than the linked multiple picture...I thought it was 2 different cars for the first 10 seconds that I read the article It was only then that I notice that both cars had the same reg number

That is one lucky puppy...the only single part of the car not returned to its component parts is the drivers seat area....however, any passengers would have been fully disassembled

        Cheers n

Err Excuse me, but does anyone else here suspect a cut and shut???

I don't believe a body shell would tear like that?

I think there is more to this than meets the eye....

Yea, fair point...very strange that a quattro on a dry road should just veer off the road and head for a tree...

              ?!

Maybe the hit was so hard that it caused the end to simply go on the side of the "car"

I dont think its been cut Fatty.
Look at the rear three quarter panel that is still joined and bent round itself.
My old man was in the old Bill for just under 15 yrs and he said there is nothing like a tree to cut through a car - they flex a little then spring even harder into the impacting vehicle
I wouldnt like to guess how fast he was going......

Incredible how the tree tore up a big 'ol RS6 like that, and that the bloke walked away from it!

Could he give me next weeks Lottery numbers by any chance?
