Not my fault! My mate from London has just rung me up about it!
he's just sold his 2.3 90 Coupe and was after 4 more rings for the drive and stumbled on this!!
I'm not addicted, honest!!!
Although I did ring the chap up to see what it's like! Don't sound to bad apart from he ain't English (Italian I think??) and I couldn't really understand what he said was rusty??Comment

You could get 6 old Audi's for the price of yours!
or 4 old Audi's, 4 sets of lowering srpings, and some ATS Cups, Ronals and Borbet rims just for the win of course!Comment

a plan? Sounds far too organised! But I do like your way of thinking! Not sure about the air ride suspension though
Would look superb on an early Audi 100 /100 Coupe. Not feeling the air ride thing on an 80 though.Comment

Coxy - you have a disease !
If you have a taste for the older Audis then why not seek out a decent old 100 Coupe for a restoration project - they had some style about them... are terribly rare and much more interesting than some of the other Audis in your collection. No offence meant of course - tis your hard-earned monjey and you have the space so knock yourself out, but I do think that quality is more important than quantity. There must come a point when you can't keep investing all the necessary time into these old cars to keep them in good nick... I'd much rather see you put the time into something special like a 100 Coupe, but they can't be easy to find. Something rather nice and retro cool look about them - dunno why really.

agreed! That's why I ain't buying this one!
Would love a 100 coupe. Went to look at a certain blue one that was on eBay last year over in Brum, and by god, that was a resto project and a half, and it had an MOT!!!
edited bit:
Would like to add though that there are some nice 100 Coupes out there, but very few people preserve the Audi 80, which to me is a fantastic car. Agreed, the early 80 Sedan ain't gonna win any prizes in a beauty contest, but without this, there would be no S2! It's down to the manufacturers continual development of the marque that Audi is where it's at in the market today. If no one preserves them, then before we know it, they will be nothing more than a distant memory. I have always loved old cars, right from my childhood days collecting I Spy car numbers, Sports cars, model cars, observer book of autombiles, etc. I collected models and old car brochures from the age of 6 so it was going to kinda stay in my blood forever!
I like cars with history, such as my 1989 90 coupe, 50k on the clock, every MOT, every tax disc, every service receipt, original bill of sale and in 99% mint condition, and the 80 LS I've just bought has everything carefully documented from new, right down to the owner calculating every mile, the running cost and the average running cost per year for the vehicle. To me, that is fascinating and something which is part of Audi heritage. I'd rather have a car like that than one with a new paint job, a set of 18's and some serious engine work. It's all down to choice!
