        It's a "Remote Turbo system".

          How peculiar is that?!!

It'd be interesting to see how laggy that setup is!

          (Very, I would imagine...)

            !!!

All wrong and what da fooook is the point of lagging the last foot of the pipe... the heat loss before (e.g energy) is masive.

Its got to be because of the lack of room under the hood! But how vunerable are those turob oil lines

Very strange and interesting at the same time....

About the system being very laggy, well, I'm sure it will be but this layout seems to be orientated for NA performance cars that have a lot of low end torque anyway so if your engine is already not sluggish without turbos then the car won't feel laggy at all and instead of just revving up to stock power you get the added high rpm boost for even more top end power.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't fit such a system to a car I might own in the future but I wouldn't say that doing it is stupid. I think it's too easy to say "Oh that's bullsiitt" and then getting both buttcheeks kicked by such a layout !

Take a V10 M5 and fit it with this sytem, you'll end up with a 700hp monster that will outgun even a modified RS2 easliy !

Be honest dear S2/RS2 owners, our cars are pretty slow before the turbo kicks in and getting caught offguard when sensibly "streetracing" has happened to all of us !:mischeif:

                  I dont agree with this...

It may end up being a 700 bhp monster but it will be extremely 'laggy'! thats just the pure physics... yep off boost the car is quick but think about exiting a corner in the wet, you get it all balanced, wind in a bit of throttle looking for grip then the pesky turbos chime in about 10 sec's after you set the throttle... o look trees, hedge, ditch

Physics says the turbo wants to be as close as possible to the exhaust ports this is to do with exhaust temp (energy) of the exhaust gas and the inlet track needs to be as short as posible... dont believe the b***ks about 'more energy in the cooled denser exhaust gases' shear twodle... why do people use exhaust lagging and why do 99.99% of turbos get fitted by the exhaust ports or as near as physicaly posible!!!

This is just a 'cheap' easy way of getting turbos on a car and in no way the best... there are books on this and they all say the same..DO NOT DO IT! leave it to the yanks with their cars that dont go round corners anyway

Have a look at "nelson performance engines" or something like that on google, they even have big block V8's that are being turbo'ed and the turbo is actually driven by a belt !!!

                    1000hp easy...

And some US cars go very well around corners thank you, no small Brit *** banging roadster has ever had the upper hand against my Pontiac or Mustang, whether it was on a racetrack or on a small windy road... and I'm talking big British guns as well like Austin-Healey 3 liter Mark III's

Ok, granted, their fuel consumption was better

Take a look at what Jerry Clarkson had to say on the best of the best from the States in 'the good the bad and the ugly' avalible on googlevideo.com lol

just cuz you can get a thousand HP doesnt make it good or driveable.

by:mischeif: the way we have made newer cars than the Healey and admitadly most crap but you dont hold a chance against something special form germany or Italy and for that matter an Aerial Atom is made in a little old shed in devon and that for one is a bloody great British mota

Don't get me started on that one ! I have the DVD and it's great in every sense.

But I just can't forgive how biased he is in some of the "trials" he proposes.

                        For example,

The two drivers of the Cadillac Escalade and the Hummer were blatantly not trying to win ( the ditch the Cadillac driver tried to clear would've stranded the Range Rover as well ) and the Hummer driver alledgedly "broke down"--- yeah right !

And to say the Ford GT isn't an all American car is just plain nasty on his behalf !
Show me a Britsh Supercar that has ONLY british parts in it ! You won't find a single one !
Does having Brembo brakes make a Porsche Italian ?
The "British" Ascari has a BMW M5 Engine in it. Same with the Atom which has a GM Supercharged engine in it or a NA Honda I-4 !
The Bentley Continental GT is just a VW Phaeton W12 with another body...
Aston Martin cars have Ford parts in them...

The list goes on and on !

But hey, I love TopGear !
