          Think it could have been a lot worse really, i think road tax for vehicles outside of this banding system only went up £5 - i could be wrong tho

          2p per litre could have been a lot worse given the pressure to freeze it for the last few years to play catch up on what they have missed out on

              hmmm...dunno about that - petrol in the US has doubled over the last year or so (mainly due to tax), and it's still only just over 30p/litre!

              Not sure about their road tax system, and admittedly places like Singapore impose VERY hefty road taxes on gas guzzlers.

              It's all relative - I'm just thankful he's not one of mine...
