Has anyone on here ever been to an Audi dealership and come away bemused? Well it happened to me yesterday. I was driving home and passed an Audi dealership when out of the corner of my eye I saw a beautiful shiny RS4 (B5). So back I went for a closer look and I was descended upon by an eager salesman, I went along with the patter just so I could look closer at the beautiful red shiny car........by now he'd spotted that I had an "old coupe" (his words)
and asked if I would be part exchanging it for my, soon to be, new RS4 (maybe I'd sounded too keen)....I replied 'maybe...if the price was right'....now this is where it got amusing and bemusing......he started to look at my baby commented on how she was in good condition for her age (cheered me up)
but then spotted the S2 badges....it was at this point a strange look on his face appeared, quickly followed by the remark "I didn't know Audi made an S2"....
.........Enter into the Arena a second dealership employee.......... This one had heard of the S1 (his Dad used to go on about them apparently..) but sadly not an S2.......I thought that this might be the time to tell them that there were only three S2s' ever made and this is the only surviving one then maybe we could do a straight swap...:mischeif:
...my plan was dashed however when a third employee was summoned..(I'm beginning to feel like a celbrity by now).... this guy was different only in the fact that he was able to read and went away to do so....he came back with great news....he'd found in the dealership archives a book ...(a dusty one I suspect)...which proved that Audi did indeed make an S2 model.....lmao.....to which I replied..... "I know, I own one....and we're standing beside it"....
Anyway I made my excuses and left (without my new B5) ..... I'm not going to name the dealership, or go back there...
just in case someone on here knows of it (although I doubt it as obviously an S2 has never been there before).... I wonder what would have happened if I'd started to ask for parts......

with escort mexico or an RS200. These are similar in rarity but you would struggle to find a single employee that didn't know what it was
)...blank looks..."what's the chassis number?" I tried to explain that I dont have that car, but want to upgrade mine.."OK, well what's the reg then?"....I was beginning to run out of time at this stage as I was on my lunch hour...
so I explained again in words of 1 syllable...not my car...these are from a B5 RS4...
