That's probably about right. The chap who did the detailing is pretty well known and charges anything upto £5000 for a valet!

There's a video of him about on the net of him doing a full detail on a MC12 using Zymol Royale for the finish.

Can't fault the guy for getting the car looking like that but he must have waaay to much money as that will not have added any value to the car whatsoever.
You could understand it if it was a Ferrari/Aston/Lambo/RS4/R8 but not on a Vauxhall, not even a VXR is going to hold it's value and turn into an appreciating classic in years to come.
Polishing the headligh glass to get rid of a billionth of a micron was just way tooo **** for me!!! I think he needs to get laid more often!

As I said in the previous thread about this... Seriously impressive (albeit wayyyyy over the top), but FFS the upholstery has to be about the woirst I have ever seen, stitching not straight and the creases in the leather..... I couldn't live with it like that, for all the money he spent on cleaning it, every time you get in it you would see that crap job....
still, each to their own, mines lucky if it gets washed once a month, let alone 3 microns polished off the headlight lens....
Honda CBR 1100XX Blackbird Turbo....undergoing major changes.....
S2 Coupe... bit easier off the line...
'03 ZX12-R daily hack.... lots of nice bolt ons...

After all that work you wouldn't even want to drive it just in case you got it dirty.

Its 1 hell of a lot of money to spend

There's some 'typical' Vauxhall shut lines around the front wings too... No amount of polishing will shift them.

              Sad git.

Mind you, if I had a Vauxhall, I wouldn't want to drive it either.

Where is the skill in detailing a brand new, straight out the box car! I know its still shiny and clean but FFS it hadn't turned a wheel. Hope he is pleased with it anyway but fraid it just leaves me cold.

I think it (the VXR) does look very good, but I have to agree it is a bit overdoen... Wish I had friends like this to polish my car...

                              a) Why pay that much for an Vauxhall?

                              b) Then detial it when new?????????????

No accounting for tastes but as someone has said it's his money.

The attention to detail is stunning.

Doing brand new cars, for a show room ain't that easy, try unboxing and deskinning a VW beetle , good 3-4 hours work before it meets the showroom...
