Now that's impressive to watch. I wouldn't like to have to write the program for that! Makes manufacturing fan blades seem boring compared!! LOL!!!

        5 axis CNC

Where I earn a crust we have a full 5 axis CNC but it is designed for cutting wood, the work table is 15m by 4 m we use it for cutting out panels for refridgerated lorries it can take an 800mm dia saw blade and various router cutters it can also drill and tap holes up to m14 the only snag with it , it was made in Italy
PS some companies that have the same machine use them to make boats, well the full size model that the moulds are taken from ,Also car makers use 5 axis machines to make the moulds needed for the dashboard of the car ,they take approx 7 days working 24hrs a day to make them .If you can write the program they can make it

Programming such things these days are not that much of a problem.
If you have a good CAD - CAM package, it does most of the hard stuff for you.
Still awesome to watch these machines in action though.

That would still be one hell of a program to write!!

If this is the Matsuura vid, I've got the DVD from Autosport this year - and they did a W16 block as well!!!

Snap I took at the show (it's a ****** of a job taking pics of shiny aluminium bits with all those lights trained on them!)
