    Frackin MOT doh!!! Help needed.

Hey guys can anyone help? I need to borrow a set of aby head lights to get my s2 through its mot. Can any one help me out? Its at Audiman's (Tom's) until the end of the week. If there is no one local to Tom I am picking the S2 up this saturday so Is there anyone near Giuldford Surrey that could help me out?

I've got a fairly new pair in the garage kicking about. I'm not sure if I can get over to Tom's this week though. Maybe Friday, if that's any good?
    Why have yours failed?

Its because there is a problem with the headlamps, not because it has xenons. The bulbs dont "suit" the projector lens, so the beam pattern is not good enough for MOT.

@Steve, slightly OT?? Depends how you view my MOT license! I rate mine highly as i need it to pay bills! So I do MOT's properly, like the rest of my work.

                        Hi Tom,

The OT comment was only meant to mean that I was on about HID's in Elipsoidals and in no way related to your MOT license etc!

My MOT man is very straight too, so if my car passes I know its pukka.

                        Cheers,

                        Steve.

                          Hey Ross

Sorry to hear you are having problems. Can't understand it myself, the whole bulb/projector assembly is from an A6, so should not be mismatched . I had the car MOT'd days before I sold to you, & it passed - no problem, from one of the more 'strict' MOT stations in Bedford.

                          Hope you get it sorted.

                          Imran.

My lights too are complete bulb and projector assembly from an A6...
infact from a LHD A6 too, and once adjusted properly were not even slightly questioned at the last MOT...
hope you get it sorted, but there shouldnt be a generic problem with the set up itself...
Honda CBR 1100XX Blackbird Turbo....undergoing major changes.....
S2 Coupe... bit easier off the line...

I remember reading Martinjs had a problem like this when retrofitting projector and HID from a later Audi.
The reason for the non-existant beam pattern is due to focus. Martins fix was the adjust the bulb positioning inside the projector, ie in sat to far in.
Pulling it back focused the light better. No sure how he did it, but can deffo remember reading that as I used that info to help and guy who fitted the same sort of setup.
The thread is in here somewhere.
