Trouble is I am NOT sure that nothing else was damaged.
Got lift home and dug out my old 16" rims (which only JUST fit over the brake upgrade) and managed to get home.
Car didn't put to the side and braked in straight line tried some low speed weaving about and it felt ok - so think it's ok ut would appreciate any advice as to what to get checked out to be on safe side.......an thoughts or advice?
Most of the load would appear to have been vertical through the wheel and as such it would put the load straight into the strut via the hub and wheel bearing. Impossible to tell for certain but I would say that, unless it was wrenched sideways as well, there is unlikely to be more damage - maybe the struts and strut tops but only if the damper bottomed out?
Do the usual checks like prying at the wishbone joints to see if they move too much.
Glad it was "only" the wheel, and it probably cushioned most of the rest of the car's suspension and structure from worse.

Can you post a picture of the alloy from the front to see if it is the same ones I have....looks like you had a close shave with more serious consequences thankfully only the wheels are damaged. If there are any numbers etc on the back of the spokes can u post them up too?
