Here's a more positive story!
After arriving back in the UK, I picked up th Avant from it's "Storage" at my brothers, only to have a cop flip round and follow me for a while until pulling me over... geez I thought, 3 hours in the country and I'm already in trouble!
However, it was much more the attitude I like to see, they had me out of the car and asked a few questions, explained it was a routine stop and mentioned that my tax disc was missing (car is taxed tho) and the MOT just ran out. Explained I'd been outta the country and would fix that ASAP, guys seemed like it was the least of their problems and were more concerned that it was really my car and I hadn't stolen it. When it checked out, they cop made a comment that "some **** traffic cops might have a problem with your german plates, but they look fine to me" before thanking me for my cooperation and taking off.
Good to see the cops concerned about theft, drink driving and insurance and not being fussed about screwing the driver on 'technicalities'!! There's hope for this country yet!
Well, the petrol prices are horrible that's gonna take some re-adjustment!
