    A little confused

I came across this in the S2 section on Pistonheads. First of all it is clearly not an S2 despite the badges but the bit I really don't understand is:

'no quattro, turbo or (auto)gearbox problems straight 5 engine with great v6 acceleration'

I might be missing something here but I wouldn't expect any turbo problems on a NA V6, I'm not sure if he is saying there is no problem with the quattro drive train or that it doesn't have one. Also how can it be a straight 5 and a V6? Finally I'm not too sure about the 180hp claim, there is no mention of what has been done to gain 30hp.

It looks like a reasonable car but I am completely lost with the description.

By having a front wheel drive V6 he is saying that it won't suffer from turbo problems autobox problems or fourwheeldrive problems. Personally I think it does have a turbo problem...it doesnt have any and they are great fun. No quattro problems? Drive it in the wet and we will see who has problems. I never really liked the V6 front wheel drive coupes everyone I have driven feels a bit dull compaired to an S2

That makes sense now, it seems really obvious reading it again but I just couldn't work it out before.

Personally I would rather take the risk of AWD problems, it makes the car feel so much more composed. As for the turbo I would love one but it would have to be an ABY in a saloon, it is a conversion I would like to do but it would need money I don't have! I think the 2.8 is definitely the V6 to go for I don't know if the fuel economy is significantly better on the 2.6 but the 2.8 is worth having for the variable inlet manifold imo.

I still don't get the straight 5 engine with great v6 acceleration bit although it is probably just as obvious as the first bit. I'm a little dubious about the 180hp.

Anyway, it's a nice looking car shame about the S2 badges.

          The 12V 2.6 has 150bhp and the 2.8 has 174bhp. The later 30v 2.8 has 193bhp.

Nice looking car, and a bargain for someone. Just seems the owner is a bit of a dipstick - is that not an RS2 badge on the back?
