Hi all, my type 85 was running perfectly however, I went to start her up recently and she didn't want to go and there was a heavy smell of pertrol fumes. I tried my other battery which after pumping the pedal furiously got her going, no problems with misfires etc ran fine. Went out next time bit of a bitch to start but went. I removed the oil filler cap to see if she would stall and she wouldn't, changed the isv and covered a possible air leak to see if the cured it. After that the car was smoother but the revs were a lot higher and don't seem to want to come down. Went to the car yesterday and the battery was flat, changed it and she was unwilling to start and actually blew fuel vapours back through the airbox! However after pumping frantically she fired up ran as sweet as a nut but the revs still are at 2000.
Now I am thinking dodgy earth, knackered fuel pump, blocked filter, injector???, dodgy warm up regulator. Other than that I don't know, can anyone offer any advice.
thanks in advance
Simon
