got myself a new set of knuckles now lol just one more freckin bolt left on the downpipe the most awkward bolt in the world. Spanner wont shift it cant get socket on it so just halfway through hack sawing it off no bolt will beat me !!!!!!!!

Why not take the turbo and exhaust manifold off in one hit and just pull the exhaust maifold out with it all.

btw it helps if you undo the engine mounts and then lift the engine up a little

But there are many ways to skin said rabit :mischeif

question - what are the options for lifting the engine/holding it for removal and refitting? I can see stands at machinemart for about £30 but they look like i'd need to get the engine out first to clamp it onto the back. I don't fancy forking out for a crane type lift and even hiring one I might be a while working on it so it ould end up expensive.

Two of us with a trolly jack lifted the engine from the mounts and wheeled it out.

well finally got it out well worth it in the end i will post up some pics l8r.

You can take it out however you like,trolley jack,rope over a branch,several strong mates. But you will need an engine hoist to get it back in, not easy getting it all lined up to fit on the shaft.
