I haven't got time to reply to all of you individually (i'm washing babygrows!!!) but thank you for all the kind and amusing comments, it was lovely to come homt to.

Fatherhood really is the best thing in the world and without sounding too cliched, I would recommend all of you that haven't done it yet to try it, it really does open your eyes to the world.

Looking forward to seeing some of you at billing next month and If I pursuade the wife, I might even bring little Thea too!

"a baby wipe will do" - LOL - when has a bloke ever used just one ?

I go thru handfuls of the damn things - especially if dealing with the ultra special baby green slimey stuff they produce in the early stages. You know the ones - when its leaked out the nappy and onto whatever else the little un comes into contact with. Disgusting - but somehow rewarding all at the same time.

Had the 18month old wee girl out for a cruise in the S2 two weeks ago - she flippin loves it more than her big brother. She just loves cars - its mad.

The big thing for all newborn parents is SLEEP - if you can get 3 or 4 hours at a session then you are doing alright. We've been damn lucky with our two but you do hear some horror stories. Enjoy the new sights, smells and sounds in the house.

Two things will freak you out when you leave hospital with babby for the 1st time -

1. The disgusting smell of cigarette smoke - babies first lungful of 'fresh air'

2. The first drive home with that bundle of joy wrapped in some blankets, the best car seat you can afford and the hopefully safe outer skin of your favourite Audi. Its freaky - took me a while getting used to driving with kids in the car.

Thats more than my tuppence worth on the subject !
