  • Boost gauge tap location suggestions.

I just bought a VDO boost gauge and was wondering if anyone out there could give me a few suggestions as to where I should tap the engine for the gauge tube fitting.

My line comes through the firewall just to the right and below the heater core (left hand drive car)

I have various brass NPT fittings so I could go just about anywhere in the engine bay.

Pictures would be great. I want a clean and easy install and not a lot of hoop-la.

    THanks in advance!

Most people tap into the line that goes to the ECU.
I have recently just renewed all of the fittings as my line was leaking.

I bought some 3.5mm silicone hose that tightly fits over the existing plastic line. I clamped this up and then put in a 3.5mm T peice that I got from a garden centre!

I also used the silicone hose to slide over the VDO gauge line.

All this was then clamped up.

I got the VDO kit with necessary fittings and olives.

I don't have any pictures of this though sorry.

I'm sure there will be someone on here who has posted some pictures of this before so keep searching.

Wow! I did not know I could just use the vacuum line for the ECU PT!

I just need to find another "T" fitting with a proper size nipple for the guage line.

      THanks!
