All scooby's remind me of is a comment I had about an old xr3i I had with a rally exhaust.

By all accounts they go like the proverbial off a shiny shovel and stick to the road like a sticky thing stuck to another sticky thing with sticky stuff.

Having driven one though, I wouldn't wish one on my worst enemy. Noisy, flimsy, plasticy, cheap (to build not to buy), motors with a shorter lifespan than a housefly.
I hired one (non turbo admitedly) in NZ and hated every minute of it. I think they are made from recycled yohurt pots.

I was very disappointed with any i was in, strip away the 4wd and turbo engine its just a piece of crap japanese car. Do the same to the S2 and you have a 2litre Audi Coupe, thats the difference! Maybe i just expected more from 20 years progress in technology.....

Yeah he misses the point about audi drivers, generalisation but scoobies and bimmas do have a reputation, is this a good thing though??!! Audi's are more subtle and understated rather than blatently in your face....

Audi dominated the scene in the early 80s and invented the very format that produced his car. What did Subaru have in 1980 ? Then Audi entered the TOCA series all over the world with the A4 and blew everything away... Oh the stormed IMSA as well until the yanks declared quattro an illegal advantage as well... Oh and then they had a wee dabble with FIA GT cars and won how many of those races with umpteen 1-2-3 finishes in LeMans and other brutal races. When feckin Subaru have done half of that they might have some history to shout about. In the meantime, just shut the fupp up, look at the back of that Audi blowing you away and watch your scabby subaru crumble into dust as it gets old - I heard thats why they use so much plastic when building a scooby - it has longer life than the metal.

My mechanic has just recently bought a "wagon" as he likes to play in it after driving his transit all week. He takes the piss out of it and loves my S2, maybe because i've had it 10 years and i have no intention of getting rid. He says i am his retirement fund! LOL.
