  • I take back all the things I said about the S5

Just seen an S5 in the flesh this evening... Friend of a neighbour obviously popped round to show off the new toy. My first sense of it was the sound - not often you hear a sweet V8 round our way - this one sounded nice... Looked out the front and there it was in shiny new car mode - in Black. It looks great and has a lovely stance on the road... None of the photos or vids I have seen of the car gave me this impression. I stand corrected - its rather desireable.

I was going to be cheeky and wander over for a look, but good manners got the best of me and I didnt wanna stroke the owners ego too much !

I'd be the one asking to open the bonnet of course - the neighbours were just looking inside, enjoying the noise and of course checked the boot to see how many sets of feckin golf clubs would fit in there - duhhhhhhhh - thats what put me off going over actually - can't be doing with golfers - tis a good walk (and hundreds of acres of land) ruined IMO - LOL !

Anyway - the S5 is officially lovely now.......

Hahah - thats the other reason I didn't go look at it - they'd think me some sort of freak. I mean looking under the bonnet and being interested in a VIN number is just too weird for folk round here.

It's when you start pulling up the boot carpet looking for the options sticker. That might freak them. It's bad enough when you're looking to buy a car.

been out for a run in the A5&S5... Like you say the S5 is far better to look at than the photos, our Ur was on the stands next to the S5 at the Sussex launch.

And it was a surprise the design 'q's' obvious from one to another

Ha, I hear you Paul - the first time I saw photos of the "5" I was like you, but actually seeing a couple in the flesh, and hearing the S5's burble, I'm a changed man, it's a very nice car.

Golf - now, all I can say to you is go out and play a round or two, you'll have an A5 moment!

Yeah, I've noticed that with most Audi's in particular. They look so much better in the 'metal' so to speak. Even the quattro. Photo's just don't seem to do them justice.

Called at Audi garage last night for a gallon of oil and whilst waiting the nice girl behind the desk said the R8 was open if I wanted a wee look around it. That was good. And then on way out spied the S5 aswell, which was more interested in as might actually buy one a few years down the line whereas I fear the R8 will always be out of reach.
                      Very good looking car.
