    Finally I own an S2!

After a lot of messing out selling my car, and various transport problems, I got to London yesterday to buy the blue Avant that Notorious had avertised on here.

I am 100% pleased with it
It will be staying standard mainly apart from afew subtle bits and bobs to tidy things up.
First pics after driving home in the rain (it has rained on the last 4 times Ive bought a new car )

I will post some better pics once its had a good polish and some clay (if I can be bothered/find time over the weekend)

I hope you enjoy it and take care of it, I can also assure you that you will never be bored of it.

I had to quote this part! This is how everyone starts off but unfortuneatly the more you read, the more you want to modify the car.

MY last car was a 280bhp Cav Turbo, so my plans are to get the S2 chipped so it has similar power/performance (will probably be quicker if anything) and some brakes (before the power of course)
Then it will stay the same until I move house, garage it and only use in good weather etc. Then maybe abit more power!

I know what you all mean about saying I wont mod it much, but after having a VERY loud in your face Cav, its quite a novelty to have something so quiet/rattle free for a change!
Driving 150 miles home, I got out and felt fine, if I had of been in the Cav I would of had a headache and got out thinking "I dont want to get in that car again today!"

What sort of power/torque does the home fry chip give?
Or would I better going straight for a remap at MRC?

Good man! Looks tip top in that colour , do let us know what goes better the cav T or the S2...Well before your Cav was modded to 280bhp , ..Or even after you've modded the avant a wee bit, to get a full on comparison.
For now enjoy the engine note fella

Once I get used to it, I will post a comparison, I will no doubt include comparisons to the 4x4 Saph Cossie I had too!

You could MRC it, then you would have a map to your car.

Swings and roundabout, the homefry for the price is brilliant. The advantage of the MRC map is your car is health checked prior to mapping and then it's mapped to your engine and not generic.

I was very happy with a home fry for general day to day use.

would agree, before the serious money gets spent, a homefry will be a nice upgrade, compared to stock performance, it is how the S2 *should* have left the factory!

                            Sounds good enough then
I guess it transforms the car then?

Would standard brakes be ok or best to get those sorted first?
Sorry for all the Q's, Im sure there will be lots more yet

standard brakes will be o.k for a homefry but when money allows I would suggest upgrading the front brakes to Porsche monoblock spec (996).
