We put it on today, and it sounds very nice, but is very boomy too!
As I had to rush off to work afterwards, after I left, I remembered that we had forgotten to adjust it slightly as there was a small hole at the joint to the old system
(The slit at the end had not been covered over completely by the other pipe)

So Im hoping that once that is sorted out, it shouldnt be as boomy, if it doesnt, then it will have to go as its WAY too loud and bassy around 2-3k revs.

Anyway, we took off the rear silencer and rather than cutting it so it kept the other box, we made up a pipe to suit.
Sorry no pics of it finished completely, or of any normal rear view pics showing the pipes. I will sort those tomorrow, and an underside one when we adjust it.

Are you not running a middle box then??, I have a milltek cat back on my avant which is a 2 box system and thats just a bit louder than stock (in a nice way).

Correct, no middle box.
As I already said, Im 99% certain the volume is due to forgetting to adjust the centre joint where a hole was visible.
The combination of a 40 min drive to work, with 25 mins to do it in, got the best of me and I rushed off without sorting out the gap

So I will reserve judgement until it is adjusted

I know of an AVANT with a full miltek which is also very boomy at cruising speed .

Mine didnt seem too bad at 60mph+, if anything, it got quieter.
It was at its loudest around 2800rpm

That sounds similar to the Stromung on my S4. It's a 3" system with no middle box.
About 2500-2800rpm it is at it's loudest. Though cruising at 60 with the sunroof open I get a wonderfully tuneful, subtle warble.

i have the milltek as well with both boxes.it is loud from 2000-to 2800rpm then quiets down for the turbo to kick in with it's noise...
I could do without the low range boom.Im thinking of either modifiying the milltek boxes,or replacing them
