what are your thoughts on this car? .. whats the engine like? .. I hear this is insane!!

i was looking at the lotus elise and doing an audi engine transplant to 360hp .. but someone pointed this car out to me .... dunno .. i know its insane .. but not confident on engine yet .. i read one part where it had done 5000 miles and needs a rebuild!!!??? wandering if anyone on here has had any experience ??

i also have my eyes on other cars too just weighing it all up

insane is the word

was chatting to a guy at the ferry port on the way back from Le Mans, he'd got a supercharged one. the sills are about a foot wide and there is a technique for getting into one - even i struggled and i'm only 5'8

but in terms of sheer speed in every sence of the word, theres not much further you can go. there is a legendary one twin turbo'd that was chased out of belgium by their police helicopter having been clocked at over 220mph

The engines are as solid as the make of engine fitted!
There is no 'set' engine but they are usually chevy smallblock V8s (or big block) which are very reliable workhorses that put out monster torque and are very tuneable

you can specify the engine you want when you order it AFAIK

nope ... but im now employed .... and looking for an upgrade ... wether it be s2 or not ...

if you are looking at cars like these then i'd suggest you ditch the S2 as they are in another league, not least as a pure track day car but road legal.

I'm being Serious now Chris go and look at a Evo or Skyline R34.

If I was in your shoes though I'd mod the S2 get it out of your system as you've always wanted to do it and then get a 2nd car be that a performance or not.

Mclaren used the ultimas chassis & body as development mules for the F1 engines- now one of those would have been FUN!!!
Been out in one on a trackday (5.7 l vette engine) awesome power and handling plus it looks like the old porsche 962 le mans car!
