I've said it before, but there seems to be such a malaise with English football players these days - hardly any of them seem to give a monkey's chuff about actually playing for their country anymore - they're all so over-hyped, over-paid and over-exposed that even playing against Germany doesn't raise the desire/commitment/effort/skill levels anymore.

I'm much more interested in the Rugby World Cup which starts in 2 weeks time, oh Yes.

Me too except the wife has forced an October holiday. So we are off to Switzerland. I have not told how close to the french border

110% agree with that. At the end of the day a manager can only do so much to be fair to Mclaren but I think he does lack the character and creativity to drive a team fwd

England kind of reminds me of the footballing version of David Coulthard, flashes of brilliance but no consistency....mediocrity personified

It was only a friendly it was a chance for McLaren to find out how ppl played in different positions but i still think there must be someone better than him to do it

Its all about big names tho there are other good players out there but he always goes for the bigger names
