I know that road and taken together with Oxfordshire's attitude to the motorist you'd have to be insane to break the speed limit at all, let alone by 100mph.

At least he'll get some form of sentence for it - unless he's an undercover copper "just testing the car for high speed handling your honour".

    Ck.
Shocked, exhausted, hosed, bushed, dumped, chipped, mounted, filtered, gauged, packed, intermittantly wiped and braked. I mean broken. Now, about the car...

Brady also denied a further charge of aggravated vehicle taking. - probably wasn't his car either so deserves all he gets.

Some people are true mentalists when it comes to speed, I like it as much as the next person but there is limits etc.

Also thought camera's could not catch you at certain speeds?

        Hi Guys,

This is in my area, what they haven't pointed out is that the A420 there is a dead straight dual carriage way with no entry or exit points between the roundabouts. I have seen 1.45 leptons there before. No great shakes really, except he was caught. (Not condoning the TWOC if that is the case though...)

        30mph village my ****!

        Cheers,

        Steve.

Was in the news a few months ago, when he'd just been caught.
IIRC he didn't break into the car and nick it, rather "borrowed" it from a friend or boss, or something along those lines.
Been quicker than that, not in the UK but in Holland on the way to Assen. On a bike.

Wonder what model of 911 it was?

Love the way the media can get from speeding on a road near a village in your mates car, to speeding through a village, in a 30 zone in a car your probably stole

I guess you mean this stretch of road (link to Google maps). Wouldn't be my choice of road to really go for it; fair play if it's yours

(Measuring speed in mph or leptons - group buy of speedo faces marked up in leptons anyone? )

This (Google maps again) is a real straight road

Totally agree that some of the media haven't exactly reported it in an elightened fashion - at least the (current) BBC report states in the opening paragraph he was caught on a road in Oxfordshire with a 70mph speed limit.

If it was a 996 turbo, I imagine it's very easy to blat up to 172mph when giving it a bit of a workout.

Drove one last Saturday at Prestwold Hall - very, very quick, but didn't particularly feel it, even when undertaking an Aston Martin Vantage up the inside of a quick corner... :mischeif: (The instructor was egging me on, what can I say?)
                    Nothing feels fast for long...

Yes, that's the stretch. If you zoom out you will see that it is almost straight for two miles, with no slip roads. If no one else is on it, (assumption) you only really have your own safety to worry about, and IMO that's tyres and wildlife....

                      Just my 2p's...

                      Cheers,
