Death of Seville FC player must be a wake up call!

Are the medical check-ups for professional football players that lax as to not detect that the palayer might have a pre-existing health problem that could be detrimental to his well being!?
Here in the States they now do genetic checks to make sure that the player has no genetic defect which could cause the player to be harmed. Several years ago there were players that were collapsing on the court due to genetic heart defects that were not found thru a the medical check-ups. All pro-sports in the USA now employ genetic checks. Maybe FIFA needs to initiate this type of check to avoid unneccesary deaths on the pitch?

Did you hear the story from the UK yesterday of the Leicester player who had a heart attack during half time and had to be resuscitated???

I understand that in Italy they also do the genetic screening programme for footballers now.

I heard exactly the same thing Dan on the radio today

Luckily it sounds as if they managed to save him with some fast treatment and good medics ...

The match was stopped because it was such a serious incident
