    recommended cars....

Just thought I'd put this question out there for you all....
as we are coming back to the UK I was wondering what car to get and decent S2's seem to be very scarce at the moment. What would be a good car with similar driving characteristics....

    Cheers for the replies

Audi A4 1.8T quattro with a K04 and a trip to MRC. It would even have cr4p brakes like an S2.

    Bobs your uncle.

A UrS4 or S6, The S2's bigger brother! (but relatively rare too).

Just watch out for the nasty electrics, engine-out cambelt change, and lack of 4 wheel drive...

Nice motors though - just need the usual Italian TLC

Thats probably what i'd do in the situation, especially considering your on this forum and the amount of help/wealth of knowledge you'd be in reach of.

that is the idea but I will need something for our return to use until the right S2/RS2come's up.....

I have seen a few Alfa 156 sport wagon's for sale and at a reasonable price but I have heard some negative things about alfa's reliability...mainly electric's....I'm after an estate so I can get our mountain bikes into/on the car.....

                Thanks for the tips....

good question....it all depends on how much it will cost to move our things...
I would say anything from a grand up to 5k.....although if I find a nice S2 it will be higher....but for a run around cheaper is better.....

now that all depends on the job I get!!!.....I have seen the silver nothelle on PH and it seems a resonable price but as we are still here for a few more months so I haven't done anything about it.....although if the right car comes up I will get it checked over and possibly brought.....
