Best to bend over and take that one - you got off lucky... We all do regretful things when the red mist descends, but in a 30 or 40 zone is just asking for trouble. The outcome could have been a lot worse.

When I lived in MK, the roundabouts were a curse with quattro cos other drivers would fail to judge the speed at which you are able to traverse them. I had many a moment there. Thats where you can get into a prang...

Doesn't work that way, as i know first hand, the way the courts see it is, "why would they lie?" But they do!!! I also know that.

You get some good coppers and some bad ones, i think you got one of the better ones Andy, 3 points for that i'd feel lucky too

Regarding having no evidence. I believe that because he is a professional policeman and is trained to observe speed his opinion is accepted as an estimate of speed and hence admisable in court. The other factor is that although there is a speed limit this is a limit that you cannot exceed by if your'e driving slower than that but still deemed to be driving dangerously you could be collared for that.

Take it like a man. Pay the fine and move on. At least you weren't getting 3 points for 45 MPH in a 40 Zone.

I think alot of speed limits are quite rightly there to protect us. You may think you are invinceable in your quattro bullet best driver in the world mind space. But at 95 MPH in a 40 MPH zone it can be over quick. So quick that you when you come out of your comma you can only remember the last gear change you made.

I am as guilty as the rest of us for over doing it. But at some point someone on these forums is going to suddenly stop logging on and we will all wonder why untill a desraught family member manages to let us know.
