I was quite interesent for those but then i found one in somehow better condition and for lower prices

Minicheck doesn't have the dot matrix display of the autocheck and covers less.
It has four warning symbols that light up in the square display window, same style of symbols as the lower warning lights.

Apart from S2's and most of the 5 pot Coupe's any Coupe/80/Avant/Cabby could have had that. Full autocheck was an optional extra on other models.

Ah ok cheers for the picture, suppose audi thought by putting them in there then it would get people's attention without having to have the full one fitted. Is that some sort of speaker underneath?

IIRC it's just a punched bit of the trim to let the sound out when a minicheck warning is displayed. Not 100% though as I've never had a car with a minicheck system.

In correction to the above, I've seen one S2 with minicheck. Guy from OZ posted about his on here. Never seen another and not sure if it had had a replacement cluster at some point.

i have a minicheck and i think the speaker is just for the beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep you get when you leave the headlights on

does remind me, need to replace the ! bulb as mine doesnt work, and occasionally my oil light does
