    I've cooled down now....

Driving home this morning. About 400 yds away I see a pony and trap (no really) coming round a left hand bend towards me. Its a 40 MPH limit. Im doing it... Theres a left hand turn that Ive just passed - lady turned in slow (to the tip/garden centre). As I get closer a mini one overtakes the P&T and (as I see) followed by a numpty in a BMW. I have to brake hard to a halt to avoid a collision and avoid upsetting the bl**dy pony - I might have used lights/horn etc etc. The mini one driver just carries on (just) as shes made it back onto her side of the road, but the BMW driver has to stop (on my side of the road) and turn hard not to drive straight into me. (my window comes down) - I was not very polite, but apparently it was my fault for not keeping to the speed limit - this from a "gentleman" in his 60s + cloth cap.
Little point in bashing doors, but 2 minutes later - and still shaking - I was (and still am) bloody angry. Rant over - do you forum members just get the feeling its so unfair (I just lost my final 3 points) when pr*ts like this are loose on our roads - ?

Had many instances of road rage, and to be honest you are best to thank your lucky stars that the old duffer did not plough into the front of you.

Most people's reactions nowadays (even when they are blatantly in the wrong) is to jump on the defensive straight away.

Been in one instance of road rage when i got cut up big style and when I tooted my horn the guys in the car took umbridge and wanted to get me out of the car..I know if it was a one on one the guy would not have bothered, but since there was two of them, no point...From then on, I decided to let the fukkers kill themselves and hopefully they will not take any innocents with them...

Sorry to hear that and as your no doubt hear from loads of people on here that everyone thinks they own the road, just put it down to another of lifes lessons and another reason to hate old people who drive bmw's that think cause there car costs more then they can do what they want.

Glad to hear your car was not damaged etc.

@dubbedup - i've had people like that before, no-one's tried getting out the car at me yet but had a few nasty comments etc, tbh I tend to just let everyone thru and get on with it as it saves hassle and they're only going to injure themselves at a later date, just hopefully not hitting an audi.

I have had a knife pulled on me in Glasgow city centre at about 1 oclock in the afternoon. While I was in the car, just locked the doors and phoned the plod. Well it was not as calm as that but you get the jist..

police stopped the guy the next day and never found the knife.. SHOCKER...

Its surprising what people actually carry around wtih them in the cars, tbh any petrolhead normally has something in the car, I can quite easily lay my hands on a long 22mm spanner which I use to work on the car with.

In my 20v quattro sport for a while I was carrying a baseball bat but that was destined for the guy messing around with my x, never caught up with him tho and tbh dunno if i'd have used it as most people who know me know tbh I just could not be assed with it.

Had an SL merc drive through a red light and just managed to avoid hitting him. I was so pissed i followed him down to the next set of lights to have a word to find the guy was drunk as a skunk and rather agro. Just as i was about to walk away the boys in blue came around the corner in there fluorescent glory

Great sense of satisfaction watching him being bundled into the back of a cop car, at least thats one less drink driving a..hole on the roads!

Had one ***** in a land rover decide to make an over take off a round about, except the lane he was in merged into mine after about 10 meters.

I backed off, and if he'd have got a move on i wouldn't be typing this now, but he didn't, and in fact decided neither to brake or accelerate as he sat side by side with me, his lane merging into mine.

If i had been in a transit van id have sat side by side until he went into the side of me, but having just cleaned the car, and being in the s2, this wasn't an option!

Needless to say i felt justified in slamming on the anchors and flashing the lights aggressively, knowing that there was a couple of hundred meters of dual carriage way a further 100 meters down the road

He obviously didn't stand a chance when the lanes opened up, but decided to try anyway. I got caught in traffic at the end of the dual carriage way, where it merges back into 1 lane, and this land rover comes flying up behind me, slows up about half a meter behind me, and sticks his beam on, flashing it several times

I keep a straight face, not amused, and see this big bold guy in the drivers seat of the land rover, with the biggest grin on his face. He proceeded to keep revving his engine and coming up close behind me, flashing his beam, grinning.

Well, needless to say, i didn't exactly feel intimidated in the s2, and figured that if he kept being a fool he'd end up causing an accident.

This continued for another minute (you know how time flies when your frustrated!), but at this point i noticed his wife and/or mother in the passenger seat look towards him and give him such a bollocking, his grin quickly turning to a grimace.

Needless to say... the last thing he saw before i took off was my grin

I have found that one of the best weapons to carry around in the car is a camera, either on your phone or ordinary one. It is amazing how many people back off when they realise that you have their picture. Had this happen a couple of times and the prats did a runner. Also works good for the insurance claims etc as well.

Aye... things that could easily be used for self defence like this which normally live inside the car (rather than tools in the boot). Or maybe the fire extinguisher let off towards someones face.

Shocked, exhausted, hosed, bushed, dumped, chipped, mounted, filtered, gauged, packed, intermittantly wiped and braked. I mean broken. Now, about the car...

No matter where you are, what time of day it is, what speed you are doing- there will be someone on the road that shouldn't even be let loose with a walking frame. A couple of years ago i worked on the taxis a couple of nights a week to fund my horsepower addiction. Some weekend nights you would do in excess of 500 miles ferrying pissheads home and you would see it all, idiots , drunk drivers, undertaking, overtaking on blind bends you name it- and everyone says that taxi drivers drive like lunatics (Bonus was the amount of nubile young laydees that would show you various parts of their anatomies and perform favours to get a cheaper fare!! ( sorry i've only got a fiver left- is there anything i can do for you?? ).
Never took any of them up on the offer tho:mischeif:
The thing is the ones that drive like complete w4nker5 don't get done and the tidy responsible drivers get hit for doing 90 on the motorway in a 150 mph car!
Not that i'm bitter or anything!
Oh and ive always found that if a group of lads in a car offer you out when you're on your own pull in and get out asap, start shouting the odds and they will think "theres 4 of us and he looks up for it must be a nutta" and drive off!
(If anyone does this and gets the 5h1t kicked out of them- i cannot be held responsible!!!)
Speak softly and carry a big gun!!

Lol dunno if someone got out the car holding a bright yellow bar like that i'd be tempted to pmsl at them, probably get a bigger kicking but would die laughing my *** off.

A few of my mates knew I had the bat in my car and reminded me to carry a ball with it incase I got stopped.

Could just see the conversation with the copper:

Copper -= why are you carrying this around with you
me -= to find the guy who's messing with my x
                      Copper -= and why's that?
Me -= to see if he has any balls

Shortly followed by me getting put in a police car trying to keep a straight face and getting charged with threatening behavior or some what?
