My favourite quote for today....from the above article...

"features 10 LED daytime running lights housed in each headlamp cluster -- a useful feature for signaling that the family and their 59 cubic feet of luggage are charging down the highway at 155 mph"
Honda CBR 1100XX Blackbird Turbo....undergoing major changes.....
S2 Coupe... bit easier off the line...
'03 ZX12-R daily hack.... lots of nice bolt ons...

You aren't missing out of much here...your side of the pond has the good stuff, including really nice and small TDI cars for casual driving. America is full of tons of big obnoxious trucks and SUVs.
But yes, the new RS6 Avant (and the previous) were never available here and that is indeed a shame!

Went back home in July, quite a difference really of what you see on the road. There's a few TDI cars in the USA but they aren't nearly as popular or easy to find. I do like the gas prices there tho although they are getting worse by the day

For years we always wanted your classic cars, big V8 Chevelles, Chargers, Challengers, Novas, Mustangs It took europe a long time to make big engine cars affordable. Only decent V8 we got was the Rover V8. ...because you guys didn’t want it

It is strange about imports, some manufacturers had the same cars with different engines in the US, and sometimes the car itself was completely different. Honda is a good example of that.

And does anybody know why the S2 was never sold in America? There were obviously LHD versions, engines were fitted to S4/6's so it can’t be that.

Who knows? Fortunately after 25 years cars can be imported into USA from the UK as-is, my mate plans to take his '83 UR back with him when he leaves here, my other mate is taking his Mini. The biggest problems with importing any Euro car though into the states is emissions and safety issues. To name a few, windows are required to be thicker in the states; I believe there also needs to be crash bars in the doors.

Joe "NoNonsense" where in northeast USA are you? New England? Connecticutian here
