HELP! Complete brake failure miles from home...

    Help!

(Second attempt at posting this... first one seems to have vanished?)

Brakes have failed completely - flexible brake line from chassis to strut is leaking and just sprays fluid when pedal is pressed. Stopping power of fresh air

Can anyone suggest a mechanic/garage in the Southampton to Bournemouth area who might be able to help on a Saturday?

    Cheers

    Ck.
Shocked, exhausted, hosed, bushed, dumped, chipped, mounted, filtered, gauged, packed, intermittantly wiped and braked. I mean broken. Now, about the car...

Indeed. Believe me tho, it wasn't there when I checked back - I wouldn't have started another identical thread (wording not withstanding) if it was. Maybe it got delayed in the server sluggishness.

Anyway, finally sorted. Big to the parts department at Southampton Audi (not least of which for knowing S2's exist and having the right parts in stock). Fair play too to the mechanic who was willing to take a flyer on my diagnosis and pick up the parts and brake fluid on the way past down into the New Forest to fit new brake line and bleed everything through.

Even Mrs. Ck was fairly forgiving after being let loose in the spa facilities at the hotel

Is this not the perfect reason why we need regional boards in the forum? CK could have been on the net for 2 minutes and found the info he needed AND probably could have got it his car sorted the same day!
