I think the factory S2 springs are perfectly good - no need for anything stiffer on A & B roads. Stiffer for track use (or if you have lovely smooth roads around you) is plausible enough. I certainly dont want to be any lower - it might look cool standing still but it doesn't look cool when one drags their subframes over a ramp or ridge in the road.

I think the combination of stock springs with uprated, adjustable dampers like these Koni jobs is the way forward unless the car spends a lot of time on the track.

110% Agree with you. I am running std springs and Bilsteins and I cannot imagine going any lower or firmer when attacking A and B Roads.

I can get a tiny insy bit wallowy on a big fast open motorway undulation, but apart from that perfect.

Tracking it, well that's a different story altogether.

They do however LOOK that bit meaner lowered I have to confess...

      Cheers,

      Steve.

120% agree. Its what I have done with both the previous S2 and now RS2. Oh and Corey is 'on the money' with those koni settings which were the ones recommended to me by the RS2 owning AMD guys who fitted mine.

I'm keen on the idea of fitting some koni's. However, whilst the adjustability is exactly what I'm looking for - for the odd track day/'Ring trip etc - how long does it actually take to adjust them?

Is this a job one can do easily at home or is it a full strut out job, then needing 4 wheel alignment etc....

Are there ANY other adjustable dampers out there that are easy (read fast) to tweak?

            Lloyd,

It is virtually a full strip down to reset them, you have to fully compress the damper to adjust the Koni's.
I have found the Knoi setting works quite well on the track, it is the springs that are the issue, you cannot have a good road spring AND a good track spring, it's one or the other.
If you want track side adjustability come talk to me about KW variant3's (but make sure your pockets are deep )
Or wait until our coilover kit is ready

              HI Corey,

Thanks for the advice. I am keen on track side adjustability, as I would like to keep the elderly parents in law happy on the odd airport run, as well as me when blatting round the 'Ring. Stripping them out ain't an option, although I note your advice over settings.

Am I right in understanding that KW do not make a variant 3 for the RS2/S2?

Keen to hear more about the coilovers... Are these the ones we talked about earlier in the year from the Mance stable?

Would be good to get some more data on both options....

              Cheers,

There is a solution from KW for the RS2
