the age old question....avant v's Coupe...

Having only used my own Coupé, I can only tell you one thing that bothers me. The doors are so long, it's sometimes difficult to get out and in when parked next to other cars.

Move to North America - they have the biggest car park spaces you have ever seen. When you get used to those, its annoyingly difficult to park anything bigger than a Nissan phooking Micra in a British car park.

Oh I also have to confess that the rear suspension of the Avant (and Sedan) is superior to the Coupes layout.

I have only driven an S2 Avant briefly but can testify that it felt very planted and less twitchy than the Coupe on the bendy stuff.

Ok I know I have an S4 and not a coupe but.............

I have driven various of the Audi's from around our age group and used to have an 80 2.8 v6 quattro saloon. I loved the car and could really through it around but always found the 2.3 100 estate quattro that we had at the same time was just better balanced, front to rear weight wise, and handled better for it.

Now I have the S4 avant and absolutely love it, and it really is ssooooooo planted.

Not sure if this helps anyones opinion but there it is.

Mind you i do love the shape of the coupe.

It seems to be a popular opinion, and I agree, the coupe is a great looking car...so my hunt continues.....although I like the thought of a 'sleeper'...

As for the coupe's doors....yep, at 6ft4 they can be interesting to get out of!!!!...but still the best car I have had the pleasure to own.....

Also added bonus with a 2 door which i've always liked with all the cars i've had and a good reason for them is the fact that with a 2 door car no-one can get in the back unless you want them to.
