    s2 3b to 600 - 800hp who can help?

Hi all im looking to make up to 600 - 800hp.

I would like to do it quickly rather than late. Can anyone help me with this?

If someone could build it I will pay.

How much would this cost and how long would it take?

    Things I am after:

    --- smooth delivery
    --- rapid response
    --- reliablity
    --- lightness
    --- efficiency
    --- a nice looking car!!!

(reason for s2 3b shell is because its lighter than rs4/rs6 etc) - so there are the cons

You're probably looking at something like Toms setup then, you'd best start collecting some pretty crazy parts. Never looked at that kinda power levels but see where your bottle necks are, (everywhere probably lol), see what part will remove that bottleneck, find a turbo that'll do the job and start working to acommodate it.

What I would say is, efficiency and reliability don't go together with 600-800bhp. You'll be eating clutches, gearboxes, etc. Will probably still get reasonable MPG on the motorway tho, my old 3B didnt drop much when i went from 300 to 430bhp... which I'd say is a much more sensible figure for a daily road car. The GT3071R or 76R is gonna give you 450-500bhp on a top setup, that's gonna be ludicrously fast and manage the rest of your criteria pretty well. Or are you going for fun/play/track setup?

    Cheers,

If you do manage to acheive all these things, you should give the guys at VW a call, they spent 6 years and $400 million making the Veyron

ids say your gonna need to make at lest 450lbsft at 8k for those figures

            bore to 83mm
            pistons
            rods
very good head port with bigger exhaust valves.
            cams and solid lifter conversion
            proper inlet
proper exhaust and turbo maybe a gt42 maybe able to get away with a t3 stage 5 exhaust side. i have seen a t3 0.82 t04R and that would do this.
            around the 1200cc injector mark
2 fuel pumps witha good surge tank.
            standalone
at least 3 inch system with open dump.
            44mm wastegate
            big filter
big intercooler or chargercooler with probly a 3-4 gallon tank. a proper pump that does no bubbles.

hard to achieve reliability and good running at these levels id expect and some of the others. turbos are all about compromise between high end and no low end.

You can't really use these in the same sentence as those power levels really

Chris mate have you driven an S2/RS2 with 400hp? Pretty rapid and would be enough for most + you still retain driveability, reliability along with the huge grin

@Chris - there must be a huge amount of money burning a hole in your pocket - calm down !

What do want this 600-800bhp car to do ?

Most things with that sort of go are dragstrip only machines.

Anything else in 600bhp territory is either in the category of Italian exotica or British ludicrica

Lets get real for a moment - a well fettled RS2 will blow most things away on the roads... Going down the GT3071/76 route takes that up a peg, then up again with GT40R etc etc but you need to know that this big numbers at the topend come with a lot of lag and loss of driveability in the low-mid range. Sure they are quick on WOT, but nowhere else.

Then there's the gearbox to worry about, and brakes (unless it *IS* a drag strip special). You cannot expect the same reliability from a modified 600bhp monster versus the same car in standard trim.

You could spend £7-10k building such a monster engine but I would just question why you feel the need for such drastic measures on a road car. This sort of power on an S2 is for dragstrips only... If trackdays are your bag then I'd wager that an RS2 setup would be faster on most tracks than a 600bhp monster unless it a place where extensive use of maximum boost/speed were available.

Everyone has already said it all.

If you have the money for a £10k project. Sell your S2 buy a RHD RS2 and fit a bigger turbo and internals.

Job Done. (Ok not withstanding bigger IC, injectors, EM remap etc. but you know what I mean.... )

                    Cheers,

                    Steve.

The money to take a 3b to 600-800 bhp by an RS2 or Audi with a 2.7 TT setup.

600-800 in an S2 is not exactly usable power. Usable power is 400-550 bhp
