gear box removeal (lots of pics)

been hard at it to day , blow the gaer box 2 weeks ago and the car looks like this

last weekend

dont pull lift over foot




well its out , next plan is to clean up engin bay and engin , fit new box and cluch , tidy up the loom a bit to , cant put it back in yet as i lilled a mount , not to fust theres a days worth of cleaning there

spent today cleaning with the good old gunk and remove the rest of the arfter markit aircon still lots to clean :?

You going to be removing the aircon off then?

yep its gone pump is ok but there was a holl in a pipe and a split in the aircon rad and some of the wires were mising , i only ues the car at weekends as i have a van for work so i can live with out the aircon

how do you get the gear box flange off , the bit the frunt drive shafts bolt on to as my new box has one missing , they look like they pull out but never done it befor

If its the bit that I think it is, is there a allen head screw in the middle of it?

Would put finger in new gearbox and check for circlip lining as i think it must be the same as CV joint .....Just looks really akward getting it out .bet its a special audi puller or something to get it out

If i was you i would get 4 bolts for cv side screw them back in but get a plate of metal 4 holes in which goes over and extends over then tighten up and use a ends for leverage for pulling out

Rough idea but saves you maybe breaking cups with lever bar

If you had the stuff you could use thick metal plate and drill hole in the middle of plate and use sliding hammer

could not put new box on as when i got new cluch out the box its the rong one part number is right from GFS same as they list on there web sit but the cluch in the box is rong , gess its been miss labaled pain in the seconed weekend i have mist putting it all back in the car
